Care advice

There are many factors that affect the durability of your jewelry and it is therefore important to take good care of it in order to use it for as long as possible. Our jewelery is bijouterie and should therefore be treated with care. As most of our models are plated, they may lose color over time in exposed areas. This is normal wear and tear, but how fast it goes depends on how well you take care of your jewelry. If you are careful and follow our care advice, you can enjoy and use your jewelery for many years.

Certain factors can cause a chemical reaction in the metal, which can lead to the jewelry oxidizing. Examples of these can be moisture, chemicals or some form of bodily imbalance. Bodily imbalances due to, for example, alcohol or medication consumption or other factors such as stress, sweat or pollution can affect the wear of the jewellery.

Avoid direct contact with harmful chemicals such as perfume, skin cream, hairspray, make-up and other similar products as these can discolour the jewellery. If you use this type of product, wait a while before putting on your jewelry.

Do not expose the jewelery to moisture and wetness as it can discolour and the stones can come off more easily. Therefore, always take them off when, for example, washing dishes, showering, sleeping, exercising or washing your hands.

If your jewelry has been exposed to any of the above-mentioned chemicals or stresses, it is important to clean your jewelry. For cleaning, we do not recommend strong cleaning agents, but only use a soft cloth or polishing cloth.

In order for your jewelery to last longer, you should also store them separately in the accompanying box or cloth bag. There may be a risk that the jewelery may lose color if it is left next to each other for a long time without any protection in between. Remember not to store your jewelry in the bathroom, but store it in a cool and dry place.

Get into the habit of checking the loops and clasps on your jewelry at regular intervals. If you find that a loop has opened up a little, you can easily pinch it back together.

In short, we recommend the following advice to extend the life of your jewellery:

  • Always remove the jewelry when, for example, you wash your hands, shower, exercise or similar activities where the jewelry is exposed to moisture.

  • Avoid the jewelery coming into contact with chemicals such as perfume, body lotion, hairspray or the like. When using similar products, let it dry before putting on your jewellery.

  • Store the jewelery dry and cool and, for example, not in the bathroom. Also store them in the accompanying box or silk bag to prevent them from being scratched or damaged.

  • If the jewelry needs to be cleaned, do this with a soft and dry polishing cloth or cloth and avoid detergents.
